Program Information
The Community Mental Health - Multi discipline Ontario Graduate Certificate program is designed for a diverse group of learners who recognize the importance of community awareness, acceptance and action relating to mental health issues and concerns. Through an enhanced level of knowledge and evidence-based practice in mental health care and advocacy, this program will explore the complexities of mental illness, the link to addictions and the needs of a diverse population. Cultural and legislative strategies that impact mental health care and lead to a more supportive and open society will be examined. Learners will gain a new understanding of mental health issues across the life span including knowledge in addictions, assessment and intervention approaches, and relapse prevention. Strategies for maintaining healthy lifestyle for individuals, helpers and their support networks will also be explored. In consultation with the faculty, students will create their own supervised field experience where they will be given the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills, in their unique work place or a community service that operates in the area of mental health awareness, intervention or prevention. Opportunities for the student to become an advocate for change will be strongly supported.
Occupational Health & Safety Management
Program Information
The Occupational Health & Safety Management Ontario College Graduate Certificate program is a multi-disciplinary program that is designed to encompass a broad range of knowledge in occupational health, safety and environmental management systems that are critical to an organizations success. This program provides students with a strong health and safety foundation by developing the competencies required for the effective development, implementation and evaluation of health and safety systems in occupational settings. Emphasis is placed upon learning the application of legislation and recognizing, controlling and evaluation workplace hazards. This program will enable students to become leaders in health and safety by motivating proactive behavioral change. Students will anticipate and employ strategies to manage emerging health, safety and environmental issues while examining accident theories, emergency response planning, ergonomic principles, risk management principles and the promotion of workplace safety and wellness.
Occupational Health & Safety
Program Information
The Occupational Health and Safety Ontario College Certificate provides students with the knowledge and skills required to monitor and assess the safety of people at work and related workplace hazards. In addition to the fundamentals, students will explore the management skills required to support and lead workplace safety programs. Under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, workplaces must prepare, and review at least annually, a written Occupational Health and Safety policy and maintain a program to implement that policy. This certificate program is designed to assist participants in fulfilling this legal requirement by providing guidelines and assistance in defining Health and Safety objectives and developing policies and procedures. This program will interest individuals with responsibility for Health and Safety (e.g. Supervisors, Safety Coordinators, Occupational Health Nurses, Joint Health and Safety Committees, etc.) that require broader legal and technical knowledge to function effectively in their occupation.

The positions may include assisting medical practitioners to keep the office operating effectively or supporting the many offices or departments of hospitals or health care facilities. Employers need health care administrative professionals with exceptional medical office and advanced-level technological skills, including skills in transcription of a wide range of medical data, the ability to provide excellent customer service and the organizational expertise and discretion to keep the office running smoothly. The final terms focus on health services office administration with a concentration on medical terminology and its construction as well as a detailed background in anatomy and physiology. Students will be familiar with procedures required to operate a medical office including fundamentals of pharmacology, expert medical keyboarding as well as billing and filing procedures. With a wide variety of hands-on practical experience built into the program, graduates of the Office Administration - Health Services program are fully trained to meet the demands of today's health care setting.
Palliative Care Concepts
Program Information
Palliative care aims to relieve suffering and improve quality of life for those who are living with and/or dying from a progressive life-limiting illness. The Concepts of Palliative Care, Board of Governors Certificate is a flexible delivery, part-time, online program designed to provide students with the specialized knowledge, skills and attitudes required to be involved with caring for a person with a life-limiting illness and their families. Curriculum is delivered online from caring, experienced Palliative Care faculty. Students can expect to begin their learning in important topics such as an overview of palliative care coping with death, dying and grief and the available resources, both in home and through institutional care. Subsequent courses will delve into the quality of remaining life, empathetic and sensitive care, effective communication techniques, ethical, legal and spiritual concerns, psychological and social implications for patients and families, as well as comfort measures. The program is intended for individuals who volunteer or are employed in occupations that may require them to work with families and patients who are living with and/or dying from a progressive life-limiting illnesses as it provides graduates with a strong found national knowledge in Palliative Care concepts. Prospective students may already be employed in areas of Policing and Law Enforcement, Paramedics, Developmental Disabilities Workers, Pastoral Serves, Social Services, Bereavement Counselors, or Visiting Volunteers.

Community Apartment Virtual Lab - allows for a real life-working environment in a controlled setting. Our graduates are eligible to work anywhere in Canada – it is one of only a few programs with National Accreditation through the Canadian Medical Association. There are a number of volunteer opportunities that exist for students to assist with paramedic services in the community Graduates apply relevant theory, practice safely and competently, and comply with current legislation, regulations, standards, and established policies and procedures. Students are encouraged to have a gym membership since fitness is a major attribute to success in several areas of the program. Access to a vehicle is also required to attend clinical sites in.

Practical Nursing
Program Information
RCAMS experienced faculty approach teaching from an inter-professional perspective. Hybrid courses and individualized programming offer flexibility for student learning and enhanced student success. Advances in technology and evidence-informed practice are integrated throughout the program. Students within this program benefit from hands-on experience working in both lab and clinical settings. rams RCAMS facilities include a Human Simulation Lab, where students work with mid and high-fidelity mannequins that can breathe, talk, produce vital signs and simulate the birthing process. Hospital and community placements help students to form a relationship with clients, and solidify their critical thinking skills and professional nursing practice. Clinical experiences are provided in all terms of the program. Clinical locations include, but are not limited to, lab and simulation experiences, hospital and community settings such as long-term care homes, family practice clinics and community nursing agencies. To qualify for clinical placements, students must complete a program-specific Passport to Placement.
Pre-Health Sciences
Program Information
This program is designed to prepare graduates for admission to certificate or diploma programs at Ontario Colleges in the health sciences or other related programs in the biological or chemical sciences. The program provides students with the knowledge and skills in communication, mathematics, human anatomy, biology and chemistry needed to be successful in health and science-related college programs. In addition, the program provides students with the opportunity to learn about potential careers in the health sciences and to identify other college programs focusing on the biological or chemical sciences that will enable them to achieve their career objectives.
Supply Chain Management Health
Program Information
The Supply Chain Management RCAMS Graduate Certificate program will enhance the credentials of successful students, enabling them to demonstrate understanding, knowledge, skills and expertise in supply chain to potential employers. It will further provide students with the ability to envision and produce their own supply chain career plan in preparation for employment. This program is accredited by the Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council through its National Accreditation Program, Emphasis is placed upon learning the elements of supply chain strategic planning, network design, materials handling design and applications and operations. The program will enable students to analyze end-to-end supply chain processes and understand the importance of technology and software applications in facilitating and supporting supply chain execution. Students will experience a mix of classroom study, online research, hands-on computer applications, individual assignments, group projects, topical quizzes, projects and field study.
